Welcome Guide

Welcome to Dove Cote Lodge Camping. We’re so glad you’re staying with us. This guide has everything you need for a smooth, relaxing visit — from finding us, to settling in, to exploring the local area.

How to Find Us

Address: Dove Cote Lodge Camping, Cliffe-cum-Lund, Selby, YO8 6PE

Dove Cote Lodge Camping is listed on both Google Maps and Apple Maps.

Simply search “Dove Cote Lodge Camping” and your sat‑nav will bring you directly to the entrance.

If a device struggles to locate us, follow the signs for Cliffe‑cum‑Lund.

Look for the Dove Cote Lodge Camping sign and the black metal gates.

Pass through the gates, follow the gravel track until it forks off to the right.

Go through the wooden gate at the entrance leading down to the pitches.

You’ll receive the site plan in your booking confirmation email, and it’s also available on our website if you need to check it again before you arrive.

Arrival

When you arrive, please park next to your allocated pitch. Check‑in is from 3:00pm, and I’ll have already assigned your pitch before you get here. There’s no reception hut as I’m not always on site, so you’re welcome to head straight to your pitch and get settled.

Please set up at least 3 metres from the fence and 6 metres from the next pitch for safety and space. Check‑out on your departure day is by 11:00am.

Pitches

Please keep your allotted pitch clean and tidy. The pitches are large, so feel free to enjoy the space, and remember to set up at least 3 metres from the fence and 6 metres from the next pitch.

Day Visitors

Day visitors are welcome, but please check with me first before inviting anyone. We have a maximum of 30 people on site at any one time, so I just need to make sure we don’t exceed this. For fire safety regulations, I also need the names of any visitors. All day visitors must leave the site by 8pm.

Quiet Hours

To keep the site calm and relaxing, we ask for quiet between 10pm and 8am. Please be mindful of noise around tents and shared areas.

Please be considerate of other guests and keep shared spaces calm and tidy.

Dogs

Well‑behaved dogs are welcome. Please keep them on a lead around the pitches and clean up after them.

Parking

Please park next to your pitch and keep the track clear at all times so vehicles — including emergency services — can pass safely if needed.

Facilities

Fresh drinking water is available from the tap near the entrance, as well as in the washing‑up area and sinks. Rubbish and recycling bins are located beside the gate — please recycle where possible. Our heated men’s and ladies’ toilet block includes hot showers, and there’s a roofed washing‑up area with a fridge, freezer and useful campsite information. Electric Hook‑Up is available on all pitches. You’ll also find a large communal fire pit for evening use, along with a communal BBQ for all guests to enjoy.

Everything is highlighted on the plans I sent you, so you’ll find what you need easily.

We share the site with local wildlife, so please keep food stored securely and avoid leaving anything out overnight.

Fire Safety

Please don’t use the fire pit or BBQ in strong winds. If a fire occurs, follow the site plan to the fire point and call the emergency services. Fire points, sand buckets and triangle alarms are available on site, and their locations are shown on the site plan.

For your safety, never use BBQs, fire pits, gas stoves or any fuel‑burning equipment inside tents, awnings or vehicles — even if they’re cooling down. Carbon monoxide is colourless and odourless, and can build up quickly in enclosed spaces. If you start to feel unwell, dizzy or confused, get into fresh air immediately.

Firewood & Treats

If you’d like a fire in the evening, we have wood, kindling, fire starters and marshmallows available to buy on site. You’ll find everything in the 'Pit & Grill Shed', which is situated by the campsite gate, along with a poster showing the prices.

There’s an honesty box for cash, or you can pay by BACS using the details on the poster or notice board in the washing up area. Help yourself whenever you need to — it’s all there to make your stay that bit cosier.
