This is the second year running we have been to this lovely well-kept campsite; we decided to book it out exclusively this year between 3 families for 4 nights.
Upon arrival the campsite and shower block were clean and tidy, the washing up station and fridge freezer all clean and tidy (it could do with a couple more fridges or a bigger one but wasn’t a problem)
The lovely ladies who run the site just check if you are ok and then leave you alone to enjoy your stay but will do anything for you if you ask.
We are going to book for next year because we enjoyed it so much.

Lovely campsite. Excellent amount toilets and showers - both kept lovely and clean. So was the pot wash area. Facilities were all spot on. Lovely flat spacious pitches. Hosts were great, even providing some ice pops for the kids because they knew it would be a hot one. So thoughtful. Secure site for kids to play safely. Shop and pub within 15 mins walking distance. Highly recommend this site.

Thanks for the lovely birthday stay this weekend at Dove Cote Lodge.
The set up was perfect and we enjoyed the firepit. The facilities were great, the fridge and toilets were immaculate and the toilet being warm is often rare on a campsite, we were all impressed. The washing facilities were great as there was a range of items to clean your pans as well as washing up liquid, cloth and sponge - all very well thought out.
Thanks for the additional special touch of a card and a bottle of fizz which really made the stay memorable. We all had a fab time at 50fest and will be back!

So, we had a pleasure to stay at this campsite over the bank weekend.
Let's start from the beginning- direction and location - brilliant we have received an email from the owners prior our arrival, so we knew what to look out for on the road to find the place (not that it was hard- it wasn't at all)
The area - was clean and well looked after, there were 3 other families at the campsite. The maximum I believe is 5 which is great. The area we have been allocated was plenty for us and we had no neighbours next to us either.
York was only a 25 minutes' drive and Lidl is around 10- 15 mins drive if you need anything or forgot something to pack. Go outdoors are also close by. We really liked the place. I think the only downside was for me personally as my boys couldn't hear a thing was that I could hear cars driving during the night as the campsite is close to the road.
The facilities were clean and shower was fine.
Rubbish & recycling bins provided close buy too and there were options to purchase logs / marshmallows if you wished to do so.
